HLI Government Services, a certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), was formed to provide seamless, end-to-end logistics services to government / defense contractors. Never satisfied with the status quo, HLI developed highly disciplined process improvements to better serve our military clients.

These proprietary processes were so successful in the government sector, we expanded into food and beverage logistics, healthcare transportation, industrial manufacturing, and hospitality FF&E.

John Clancey

Founder, Chief Executive Officer

John Clancey founded HLI in 2010 and has built it into a premier transportation logistics company with specialized expertise in hospitality and military / government logistics. A transportation executive for more than 30 years, Clancey was CEO of SeaLand Service for nearly 10 years. After SeaLand was acquired by Maersk, the world’s largest container ship and supply vessel operator, Clancey served as chairman at Maersk for 11 years. He is currently a director at Maersk, as well as an advisor to multiple companies in the global logistics industry.

Ben Murphy

President

Ben Murphy is President of Charlotte-based Hospitality Logistics International, LLC (“HLI”). HLI is a leading provider of logistics services to clients in the hospitality, healthcare and government/military sectors, focused particularly on transportation, warehousing and installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment at its client’s facilities around the globe. Since joining HLI in 2010, Ben has led the company through a period of rapid and sustained growth, aggressive expansion of its services offered and markets served, and significant enhancement of its worldwide network of clients and service providers. Before joining HLI, Ben held positions of increasing responsibility with Expeditors International, a Fortune 500 logistics company based in Seattle. Ben is a member of YPO and serves as a mentor to companies participating in the Queen City Fintech accelerator program. A 2002 graduate of Denison University, Ben and his wife, Meghan, have three children and live in Charlotte.

Rich Jabara

Vice President

Rich Jabara leads HLI’s Government Services division. For more than 30 years Rich has worked in executive management at companies such as XPO Logistics, Menlo Logistics, American President Lines (APL), and UPS Logistics. His experience has provided unique opportunities to integrate his background in transportation, logistics, technology, and finance. For the past 15 years of his career Rich has focused on the complex challenges of global, multi-modal DoD logistics.
